Information for Artists
About the 2012 theme: crystal

This 2013 festival will take place over four consecutive weekends in October and will mobilize audiences to come meet you and see your work. The Opening Reception will happen on the evening of October 4 at Artspace. The Erector Square Weekend (October 12/13) showcases artists based in that single Fair Haven locale; the Passport Weekend (October 19/20) invites the public into private studios throughout New Haven, West Haven, North Haven, and Hamden; and the Alternative Space Weekend (October 26/27) is for artists who don't have New Haven-area studios or are interested in creating a site-specific installation.

Each artist participating in the weekend events will display one representative work in the central exhibition at Artspace (Oct. 4-27). It will open on Friday, Oct 4 with festivities throughout the Ninth Square, into the night. The exhibition will help visitors find your studio, as will the CWOS website, a printed guide, and guided tours.

Prepare for CWOS with S/N/L!

Speed/Networking/Live! returns October 6, from 1:00–3:30. Participating artists will meet with a dozen art world professionals in a speed dating format and receive individualized feedback on their work. Check out the video made at the 2012 edition to hear from artists who participated. Sign up in September. Space is limited, preference is given to first time participants.

What's new this year?

We are pleased to announce that Caleb Hendrickson, whom you may know from your weekend visits to the gallery, is joining the Artspace staff to help produce the festival. He's your contact person for all CWOS questions: Caleb [at] artspacenh.org.

This year, all participating artists will receive a FREE limited edition CWOS 2013 t-shirt!

We hope you're looking forward to the event as much as we are! Thank you for helping us reach and celebrate the milestone of our sixteenth year of CWOS.

P.S. We found these group photo from earlier CWOS events and wanted to share the memories with you. Can you spot yourself?
